"Nirbakanna" A small attempt to feed animals with better treatment. Suri Nirbakanna Welfare Society is a non-profit animal welfare organization based in Suri, Birbhum, West Bengal, focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, caring for, and finding loving homes for stray dogs. Founded in 2020, 24th March, our mission is to give every animal a second chance at life in a loving and safe environment.
We work across multiple fronts to improve the lives of animals:
At Nirbakanna, we believe that every life matters—no matter how small. With the help of dedicated volunteers, veterinarians, and generous donors, we continue to build a more humane and compassionate world for animals.
We envision a world where every animal is treated with dignity and compassion. Our goal is to build a community in Birbhum where street dogs are no longer neglected but are instead cared for, respected, and given a chance to thrive.
Through our efforts in sterilization, vaccination, and education, we aim to control the stray dog population humanely while fostering a culture of empathy and responsibility towards animals.
Since our inception, Suri Nirbakanna Welfare Society has made a significant impact on the lives of street dogs and the community in Birbhum.
