About Nirbakanna
Our Mission
"Nirbakanna" A small attempt to feed animals with better treatment. Suri Nirbakanna Welfare Society is a non-profit animal welfare organization based in Suri, Birbhum, West Bengal, focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, caring for, and finding loving homes for stray dogs. Founded in 2020, 24th March, our mission is to give every animal a second chance at life in a loving and safe environment.
We work across multiple fronts to improve the lives of animals:
- Daily Feeding Drive: Our team of volunteers conducts daily feeding rounds in various localities, ensuring that 400+ of stray dogs and cats receive nutritious meals.
- Rescue & Medical Support: As we have only one shelter in our main branch Suri, Birbhum, West Bengal. Alongside feeding, we monitor the health of strays and provide first aid, immediate medical care and shelter to injured animals found on the streets.
- Adoption Services: We connect rescued animals with responsible and compassionate adoptive families through a thorough screening and adoption process.
- Animal Birth Control & Vaccination Drives: We conduct regular sterilization and vaccination camps in local communities to control the stray population humanely and reduce the spread of disease.
- Awareness & Education: Through social media, and community outreach, we educate the public on animal rights, compassionate care, and responsible pet ownership.
- Emergency Helpline: Our 24x7 helpline assists with urgent animal rescue cases and guides the public on how to help animals in distress.
